iSalute!

Super Steve! iSalute you. Despite the fact that I've never owned any of your products. Despite the fact that I don't think you were the world's greatest inventor. Heck! I don't even think you really invented anything. May be I am wrong. I know for sure that you didn't invent the Computer. The Japs had revolutionized the world with portable audio with their walkman. You didn't even invent the mobile phone. Online music download had its origins much before your hair started graying. As the attorneys for Samsung recently pointed out, Stanely Kuberick conceptualized the idea called Tablets in his movie " 2001: A Space Odyssey ". Then why do people around the world had such a wonderful regard for you? Why the heck did / do I admire you? I can't talk for others. I can surely talk for self. Why do I admire Sachin Tendulkar? Did he invent anything in cricket? Is he the first entertainer on the cricketing field? Is he the best that ever ...

The Awakening

"Where are we going?" "Where?" he looked straight ahead. His entire body was drenched in sweat. Sweat dripping into his eyes. He wiped off the sweat on the forehead and mildly squeezed and massaged his eyes. He had his eyes closed when he spoke again "Where? You want to know where?" "No. Not exactly. I want to know why are we going non stop? And yes. Also where are we going? Why are we staying away from the main habitat?" "Lodu.... You know the reason." "Yeah... Partially yes. But you haven't ever told me the complete truth." "Because I don't know what is the complete truth. I can only share what I know." "But you haven't shared all you know." And looking into his chest, his pocket the place where the big man often slides a piece of paper, whose contents have so far remained a mystery. "Now, kid... Don't you stare that way! It can be dangerous if there were lots of onlookers....

Eye on the Needle

Scene One: The needle is touching 100. I hear the air whistle. I see the cloud drizzle. I am all smiles. And I look ahead, On the emptiness in the road, Eagerly. Shouting "I want more!" Scene Two: 100 is touching the needle. I hear my wear grumble. I know I can't tumble. I am all sighs. And I look ahead All I can see is emptiness, and no road, Anxiously. Mumbling "How much more?" Note: The above two scenes are essentially my Joy and Agony revolving around the number called 100. Scene One" describes the Bike Ride, where often the thrill of hitting the ton and maintaining it is shortlived. Whenever I get an opportunity, I try to extend it further. Though I am not a great fan of riding "crazy" fast. "Scene Two" describes, uh, eh, er, mmm.. huh.. my weight issues. (Only in a weighing machine, the needle stays where it is, and number moves around)

The Monkey Who Bought A BlackBerry

CAUTION! Please read through if and only if you are thoroughly jobless, and absolutely incapable of finding one. This "Fable" is for only those who dream. And just dream. THE MONKEY WHO BOUGHT A BLACKBERRY "A Cathartic Story That Preaches As It Pukes" - Vavvalo Goyalla   Gibbs was on his table, writing down something when he fell flat. I had never seen him even slump or slouch in his chair till that date. Working non stop for almost 300 minutes every day, inspiring all of us to find some way to work that much. Just that much every day for four days a week. He had been working that way for the past four years, and leading our team for the past five, and still he could not find the success that was his before he was leading. Over the past four years that I have known him, he had turned from a cheerful person to a chairful person due to his work dedication. And I was his favourite understudy. Among the team members, he had special "thing" ...

"Vedi"Vel

Information One: Long back, in an episode of "Nayyandi Darbar ", the host Yuhi Sethu had remarked "Heroes of a movie represent our dreams and aspirations ("abhilashaigal"). They don't represent the common man. Then who represents the commoner in us? Its the Comedian. It is him that we can relate better." [ Not exactly in these words, but in spirit, it is the same] Information Two: Couple of years back, Pradeep had shared his this experience at his office at Gurgaon. He and some of his colleagues (mostly South Indians) were discussing Tamil movies, discussing various actors and sequences from mainstream movies. His other colleagues weren't much interested, and some of them didn't even realize that such discussion was on. Then all of a sudden, a sizeable section of his team started taking part in the discussion, with all the smiles and laughter, shaking each other, and vociferously taking part in the entire talk. What made them take part in t...
